From the Lambayeque Culture, Peru, this is a ceremonial vessel used for drinking liquids. Painted black, the handle has a warrior’s head with an elaborate headdress and toucan heads on each side facing the warrior. Small bird heads sit on each side of warrior’s neck. Stylized jaguar heads with open jaws can be seen under each spout. This is a rare ceremonial piece and some restorations have been done.
